CAF/ODS Tracker Update

Here is an update for everybody; 3 crew members are back home in VA, one member should be released from the hospital today, and it looks like the fifth crew member will be in the hospital for several more weeks.”

As the image below (source unknown) shows, the Tracker’s destruction was nearly total with barely any recognizable remains. It’s amazing that anybody survived the crash much less everybody. More pictures are available from the Warbird Information Exchange (WIX) thread

US-2B Tracker Down at MCAS Cherry Point, NC

MIDLAND, Texas (May 3, 2007) – The Commemorative Air Force confirms that one of its aircraft, a Grumman US-2B Tracker, crashed during approach at MCAS Cherry Point, N.C., at approximately 2:20 p.m. Eastern time, Thursday, May 3, 2007. The airplane was scheduled to appear on static display at the MCAS Cherry Point Air Show scheduled for this weekend. Initial reports indicate no fatalities abong the five crew. More details will be presented as they are recieved.
