Warbird Culture: Beer & ‘Birds in Seattle
February 2, 2007 11:32 pm
Looking for something to wash away those winter warbird drought blues? Why not wash them down instead with a frosty cold microbrew in the presence of some historic warbirds?
The Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA will be holding their annual “Hops & Props” Elegant Craft Beer Tasting event next weekend on February 10th. Over 50 breweries will be represented from 5 different countries. Munch on catering by McCormicks & Schmicks and jam to the music of BD & the Rockits under the wing of the SR-71 Blackbird! Tickets are $60 per person, but get $10 off by purchasing advance tickets online.
But remember, eight hours from bottle to throttle folks!

Coming from Greeley, Colorado this week was the news that the famous B-17 fuselage that occupied the local watering hole “The State Armory” in Greeley was sold to a collector in California and was being loaded on a truck for the trip to it’s new home. The bar closed earlier this past month and was sold by owner Dean Hagemeister to a real estate development firm. The B-17 fuselage had been a 28 year fixture at the bar, seeing service as a movie prop before that with 20th Century Fox studios.
A story was filed this week by the Greeley Tribune… visit the story here.
Time will tell if this rescued Fortress will once again find itself part of a whole aircraft and maybe even take to the skies again as part of a flyer…

Hello Folks, I just wanted to explain that even though some of these entries may not seem to be military or aviation, they are indeed taken from military and aviation sources. I hope to eventually expand these dates to include restored warbird dates when I can get them. Please bear with me, I’m kinda new at this at this level.
Be Safe,
