SOLD: Hawker Sea Fury TMK-20 (ES3613) N51SF has been sold to Cavanaugh Flight Museum located in Dallas, TX. Courtesy Aircraft Sales handled the sale.
ARRIVED: Vintage Wings of Canada based in Gatineau, Ontario, accepted delivery this week of the former Spence Family (Muirkirk, Ontario) Fairey Swordfish HS 554. As reported by Mike Henniger, the aircraft arrived shrinkwrapped by truck. The staff of Vintage Wings of Canada hope for a first flight next summer.
GOOD NEWS: Coming out of Windsor, Ontario this week, it has been reported that Avro Lancaster FM212 will be moved from a temporary storage area to a permanant facility at the Windsor Airport where restoration to taxiable condition will commence. FM212 was removed from a pedestal in May of 2005 after nearly 40 years of outdoor display. The aircraft is now under the care of the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association. Spitfire JG 891 took to the skies once again on Nov. 2, 2006 after a long restoration by Historic Aircraft Ltd. in the UK. It’s interesting to see a Spitfire in tropical kit.
